Welcome To Transmission!

Transmission is the Young Adults Ministry at Covenant Baptist and it exists to reach and equip the young adults in our church. Whether you are a college student, young single, or just starting out in marriage, it is our desire to help you encounter Christ and the life-changing power of the Gospel.

For Your Convenience

We know that your first visit to a new church may be a little hectic at times, and there’s a fear of the unknown. We want you to be fully equipped and informed of our ministry before you even set foot in the doors of our church. One of the ways we do that is by introducing you to our adult leadership team. To get to know our leaders a little better just click on the logo on the left labeled “Who Is Leading You?”

Getting to know your leaders is just the first step in getting plugged into a ministry. The next step would be to check us out. I mean really check us out. Take a close look at our ministry opportunities, the vision that keeps us focused, and the mission that hopefully you will become a part of.

Sunday School Classes

Sunday School is small groups at it’s best. We try to keep things fresh by frequently changing our Bible study curriculum. Each class will offer something unique. Our ministry offers topical studies, some answer difficult questions, many study through the books of the Bible, and we even do book studies. Your input is not only wanted; it is needed. We hope to see you soon!

Young Adults (Ages 18-29)

Leaders: Mark Thompson/Rubert & Ginger Austin/Thomas & Stephanie Fredrickson.
Date: Every Sunday morning.
Time: Begins at 9:45am.
Location: Room #207.

Right now we are going through “The Faith” by Charles Colson. In this powerful curriculum, Chuck Colson and Gabe Lyons identify the unshakable tenets of the faith that Christians have believed through the centuries—truths that offer a ground for faith in uncertain times, hope and joy for those who despair, and reconciliation for a world at war with God and itself.

The Faith is a curriculum for our troubled times and for decades to come, for Christians and non-Christians alike. Chuck Colson and Gabe Lyons will lead you through six thought-provoking, soul-searching, and powerful sessions on the great, historical central truths of Christianity that have sustained believers through the centuries. Brought to immediacy with vivid, true stories, here is what Christianity is really about and why it is a religion of hope, redemption, and beauty.

Small Groups

Small groups…big difference. We truly believe this. Small groups are healthy, multiplying groups that reach, disciple, and connect young adults. These are small groups, gatherings of 8 to 10, that meet at church, in homes, and even restaurants.

If you are looking for a comfortable environment, deep intimate Bible studies, or simply want to know others better…look no further! Listed below are some of our available Small Group opportunities:

Book Study- Traveling Light

Date: Every Wednesday Night.
Time: 8pm.
Location: The Austin’s. (2523 Lindale Road, Anderson)
For: Young adults (Ages 18-29)

We all have luggage of life. Haven’t you been known to pick up a few bags? Odds are, you did this morning. Somewhere between the first step on the floor and the laststep out the door, you grabbed some luggage. And the bags we grab are not made of leather; they’re made of burdens. The suitcase of guilt. The trunk of discontent. Add on a briefcase of perfectionism, an overnight bag of loneliness, and a duffel bag of fear.

No wonder we are so tired at the end of the day. Where do we turn for help? How about looking to an old friend, the twenty-third Psalm… Using these verses as a guide, Max Lucado walks us through a helpful inventory of our burdens. May God use this Psalm to remind you to release the burdens you were never meant to bear.

An Old Testament Study- The Father of Israel

Date: 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.
Time: 6:30pm.
Location: Room #207.

The Father of Israel takes an in-depth look at the historical period beginning with Abraham’s initial call from God, continuing through his relocating adventures, and concluding with the story of his grandsons Jacob and Esau. Studies include close-ups of Sarah, Isaac, and others, as well as careful considerations of doctrinal themes, such as “Covenant and Obedience” and “Trusting Everything to God.”

This twelve-volume MacArthur Old Testament Study Guide series provides intriguing twelve-week examinations of the entire Old Testament. Each guide looks at a portion of Scripture from three perspectives-historical studies, character studies, and thematic studies-and incorporates extensive commentary, detailed observations on overriding themes, and probing questions to help you study the Old Testament with guidance from John MacArthur.

The Chill

Date: Every Wednesday night.
Time: 6:30pm.
Location: Room #207.
For: Young adults. (ages 18-29)

After a long Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at work or school it’s nice just to sit back and “chill.” We gather to simply relax and enjoy each other’s company. It’s a great time of good, Christian fellowship.
