Welcome to our Small Groups Ministry!
If your destination is community, then small group ministry is the vehicle to take you there. Here at Covenant we like to define an effective, biblically driven small group as “a group of people unwilling to settle for anything less than redemptive community.” It’s passionately pursuing healing, wholeness, and a heart awakening. It’s realizing with the help of others that even though life may get a little messy, God loves working in and through our messiness.
Small Group is simply God’s design for every person. It serves as duct tape when life is falling apart, fireworks in times of celebration, embers of desire when life grows cold and indifferent, and huddles that end the lonely game of living in isolation. It’s quite simple. It’s experiencing life…life together.
Sunday School Classes
Why Sunday School?
It’s quite simple…we’re not made to experience life alone. Sunday School allows for us to have corporate worship together, yet it’s still small enough to be personal. Each class is intended to connect you with other people and at the same time allow your relationship with God to grow to a deeper level. It also offers an opportunity for you to get plugged in through service in our church and our community.

Why Home Groups?
It’s quite simple…we’re not made to experience life alone. These groups allow you to connect with people on a deeper level, resulting in meaningful relationships. It’s growing closer to God and each other.
When Are Home Groups?
Our Home Group Ministry will begin in the Fall of this year. Ideally, most of our groups will meet during the week around supper time. Some groups may even want to eat supper together. That’s the great thing about these groups…flexibility.
Where Are Home Groups Held?
What about your house?! That’s right, you can host a home group. You just have to be faithful and willing. We want you to get the most out of this experience, so we do offer some training that will help you host your home with confidence.
How Do I Get Involved In Home Groups?
Getting involved is just one click away. If you are interested in joining, hosting, or facilitating a Home Group simply click on the “Small Groups” icon to the upper right. Remember to write in your interest, as detailed as possible, and someone will get back with you immediately. You can also contact Robbie Smith directly or call the church office at 261-3343.
Bible Studies Are…
essential to our understanding of not only God, but ourselves as well. Without God’s Word we would be purposeless and detached from our call and purpose.
Whether you have personal questions about love, suffering, guilt, loneliness, success, God, the future or the meaning of life, the Bible has answers. Listed below are a few Bible Studies that we offer throughout the year.
Faith Bible Institute Class
Faith Bible Institute (FBI) is a Bible college course for every Christian. This is a study that goes chronologically through the entire Bible and systematically through every major doctrine. FBI combines solid Bible teaching with an interactive DVD video format utilizing student workbooks, charts, 3D maps and images to produce a unique and engaging learning experience.
This Bible study meets every Thursday at 6pm in room 111. Upon completion students receive credits and a certificate. To register or to get more information please click on the “Small Groups” icon to the upper right. Remember to write in your interest, as detailed as possible, and someone will get back with you immediately. You can also contact Robbie Smith directly or call the church office at 261-3343.
Military Care Packages
Many of us have friends and family members in the military currently stationed overseas. Regardless of our personal political views, the nation’s support for these brave soldiers should be constant and unwavering. Sending personal emails, letters, cards, and military care packages are a few of the most common and effective ways for us to show our support from the home-front.
If you know of someone who is in the military and needs to be added to our list please contact the church office at 261-3343.
MARC Ministry
This ministry impacts Alaska with the hope of Jesus Christ through missionary aviation. It helps expand the reach of the Gospel in Alaska by: flying people and supplies where there are no roads, supporting other missionaries and their aircraft, and training missionary-minded pilots and mechanics.
Most people know Alaska for its idyllic beauty, but few fully appreciate the difficulty of transportation and access. With more than 230 villages inaccessible except by the sea or air, Alaska has unique ministry concerns, and it’s the remote nature of the people we need to reach that necessitates this aviation ministry.
Africa For Jesus
We believe that Native Missionaries will be the key factor in spreading the Gospel throughout Africa. AFJ targets the most unreached places. Most churches in Africa are in the cities, leaving the poor, hard to reach villages without any Gospel presence. This ministry goes to the villages without churches, missionaries, and Christian presence. AFJ targets these villages, most of which are Muslim or follow Tribal Religions. It’s also devoted to church planting and discipleship.
While they administer some humanitarian needs to missionaries, that is not their primary focus. They devote all of their energy to one thing: Preaching Christ.
Ukraine Missions
One of the biggest ways we can help this ministry is through prayer. Listed below are just a few of their personal prayer requests and needs.
Please pray for their summer camps, church attendance and Sunday school. Also pray that the construction of the church can continue and that they’ll receive the funds to complete it’s roof and windows. That the ministry team will remain in good health, for winter travel safety and health during the cold months. And finally, continue to pray for the Medical Clinic and Women’s Conference that is planned.
They also need Mercy Ministry funding to help provide food for families, enough Joy Boxes to be collected and shipped to the children, for volunteers to come and help minister in camps and mission trips, and just financial support for the overall ministry.
Introduction To Our Church Family…
You were designed to be a part of a church family. And that’s exactly what Covenant is intended to be – your family. A healthy family has common beliefs, purposes and commitment. That’s why at Covenant we want to share with you what we believe and where we’re going.
God wants all of us to grow in fellowship, discipleship, ministry, evangelism. It’s by balancing those four purposes that we truly live out God’s plan for our life. More than anything else, the Covenant family wants to come beside you and watch you grow in all four of these areas.
This basic introduction to our church family is designed to clearly explain who and what our church is. You’ll learn about our beliefs on salvation, our statements of purpose, and our church’s strategy and structure. You’ll also hear about the history of our church, how the five biblical purposes are necessary to fulfilling God’s calling for your life, and the plans for the future of Covenant. At the end of class, you’ll be given the opportunity to decide whether to complete the membership process by filling out and signing the membership covenant.
Do You Want To Become More Like Jesus…
Class 201 will help you develop the habits you need to jump-start your spiritual growth. It will give you an overview of the four basic spiritual habits every Christian needs in order to grow: daily time in God’s word, prayer, tithing, and fellowship.
You Were Created With Special Gifts…
God didn’t design ministry for just a few – he made each one of us a minister. At Class 301, you’ll learn how God can use your Spiritual Gifts, your Heart, your Abilities, your Personality, and your Experiences (S.H.A.P.E.) to minister to the needs of others.
Discover Your Life Mission…
In Class 401 you’ll discover how you can be a part of God’s plan to reach out to the world. This class will help you:
- Develop a personal perspective of the Gospel message.
- Develop your personal story of how God has worked in your life.
- Build confidence in sharing your story.
- Understand the P.E.A.C.E. Plan and how you can begin to be a part of it.
